Brief: Create a warm message centred around Toronto for the holiday season.

Challenge: Having people engage with the 35 foot long display.

Execution: We selected the now-iconic Toronto sign and skating rink at Nathan Phillips Square on a wintery night as our imagery. In its dormant state when the cameras do not detect anyone walking in front of it, the Toronto sign appears off and the surrounding environment is empty, but once people start to walk in front of the screen, the letters on the Toronto sign pop to life in bright colours, snow starts falling and silhouettes of people skating come into view bringing the scene to life.

After a few moments of not detecting motion, the display quietly fades back to the dormant state waiting for people to pass by.
